Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to folding mechanisms, train guidelines, sizing, suspension tuning, and warranty.

1. How fast can a Birdy bike be folded?

With standard practice, a Birdy can be smoothly folded in 15 seconds. The front wheel pivots underneath the main frame, and the rear swingarm swings forward under the bottom bracket without needing any tools or loose hinges.

2. Can I bring my Birdy on public transport (buses, MRT trains)?

Yes! In Singapore (SMRT / SBS Transit) and in most metropolitan subway systems worldwide, folded Birdy bikes meet standard dimension requirements (maximum 120cm x 70cm x 40cm). With the optional Birdy Cover or Rucksack, it can be seamlessly carried onto trains and buses.

3. What is the rider weight and height limit for Birdy?

Birdy bikes support riders up to 110 kg (including luggage). The telescopic and adjustable stems accommodate rider heights between 145 cm (4 ft 9 in) and 195 cm (6 ft 5 in) comfortably.

4. How does the suspension work and can it be adjusted?

Birdy features a leading-link front suspension fork that provides active anti-dive braking stability, paired with a rear PU elastomer. You can customize the firmness by installing optional Hard Front Springs (10.5-coil or 8.5-coil) or firmer elastomers.

5. Can I install 20-inch wheels on an 18-inch Birdy?

Yes, Gen 3 Birdy Monocoque frames are engineered to be compatible with 20-inch (406 or 451) wheelsets using custom brake calipers or disc brakes, such as the Birdy R20, Birdy UD20, and Birdy JK11 series.

6. What warranty is included with complete Birdy bikes?

Birdy frames carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty from Pacific Cycles covering manufacturing defects. Original components carry a 1-year warranty.
